Laser treatments
Today’s advanced laser technology
allows us to safely, easily, and effectively treat sun damage somewhat
painlessly, on an out-patient basis.
How does a laser work?
The laser light beam is able to
selectively target and fragment the sun-damaged pigmented skin without harming
the adjacent skin structures.
How many treatments are required?
This depends on the size, location,
depth of the damaged skin.. You may require more than one treatment. With each
treatment some of the pigment is broken down and cleared away by your body.
Treatments should be placed 4 to 8 weeks apart.

hundreds of thousands of treatments. Laser treatments performed properly, by a
trained physician, are safe and effective. There are many benefits to laser
surgery including little if any pain, no needles, less bruising and swelling.
Do treatments for skin lesions hurt?
Patients say they feel a slight
sting, like the snap of a rubber band on the skin, followed by the feeling of
sunburn.
What other skin conditions can lasers treat?
Other skin conditions treated with
lasers include: tattoos, moles, warts, skin tags, stretch marks, acne and raised
scars.
